Hi, I’m Nora from Solihull. I teach both branded and freestyle group exercise programmes, step is my favourite. I’ve always have a bit of tricky journey with fitness industry, I do love it, it helps me build my confidence & communication skills, however I also clearly felt the unwelcomed prejudice towards me in major gym chains and left me feeling unappreciated and unable to fit in. While I was looking for my USP, a major change in personal life propelled me to make a bold move into disability field, so I started an autism friendly boxercise session in community hall, with no money nor business experience, my focus was firmly on inclusion. I simply wanted to give access to people living with disabilities to participate in mainstream activities with good support, I didn't want them to feel like an outcast like I did. What a rewarding journey it's been! Boxercise SEN is expanding & I've been utilizing my dance background to deliver inclusive dance programmes for Parkinson's, Dementia, Stroke organizations. I was fortunate enough to be part of dance team for a falls prevention project with Birmingham Royal Ballet & I gained my level 4 as a result. Now we are incorporated as a not for profit social enterprise Envolve Wellness Ltd with a team of 3 teachers and 6 volunteers supporting more people with chronic health conditions in our local & nearby cities, watching people smile and grown in confidence is a priceless reward, our passion for empowering disabilities only strengthened. I'd love to use my role as an ambassador to promote more social inclusion and cohesion. It's all very exciting!
