How is my course delivered?

The Level 3 Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults is a blended vrtual course. We have created our own platform, NETFIT, which will allow the delivery of the theory part of the course. This is backed up with 2 live mandatory webinars with your tutor.

What does the course cover

Understanding the ageing affects on the UK population

Understand the physiological and bio-mechanical changes associated with ageing and their implications for physical activity

Understand the medical conditions commonly associated with old age and their implications for physical activity

Understand the key considerations for older adults participating in physical activity

Understand the communication skills required to engage with older adults

What time would the webinars be?

Webinars run for the first two weeks of your course. 

Thursday at 3pm

Saturday at 11am

You MUST attend ONE webinar per week. The content of the webinar changes every week. You do not have to attend the same weekly session.

How do you run the webinars?

We run all our webinars using Zoom.

What do I wear for the webinars?

Webinars can feature both lecture content and movement content. Please be prepared that you may be asked to do some movement, therefore we recommend you wear appropriate wear for exercise.

What about all the other learning?

All other learning is done in your own time. this is an in-depth course and is the entry qualification in to the fitness industry. As a guide we advise 30 hours in total to complete the entire course including the assessments.

How do I take the assessments?

The assessment for this course is submitted via worksheet and case study to your assessor. you will be supported on how to submit this.

What date does the course start?

The next course 13th of July.

How much is the cost of the course?

The course cost is £165. This can be paid in one sum or split over 2 payments. We do not charge interest on the payments, and we do not charge a set up fee for this service. 

Will I get hard copy of the manual?

No, we provide virtual access to the course content. you can purchase a manual at an additional cost of £40 inc p&p. This supports us keeping the costs lower for each learner.

How do I book?

  • Simple click on the book button above. This will direct you to a form which we use to gather the needed information for your Active IQ registration.

  • After submitting this form, you will receive your learner agreement and an invoice for your course based on the payment option you selected upon submission. Please note that courses are not confirmed as booked until payment has been made or a payment plan has been confirmed.

What happens next?

Your course start date will be in your terms and conditions and on your invoice. You will be contacted no later than 5 working days before your course commences with the following information:

  • Details of your tutor

  • How to book your space on the webinars where required

  • How to gain access to your learning materials

  • How to gain access to any technology you may need to use

  • How to submit your work

  • Any additional information you may need to know including assessment information and receiving results
