The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to design and adapt programmes to meet the needs of older adults.
How is my course delivered?
The Level 3 Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults is a blended vrtual course. We have created our own platform, NETFIT, which will allow the delivery of the theory part of the course. This is backed up with a live mandatory webinars with your tutor.
What does the course cover
Understanding the ageing affects on the UK population
Understand the physiological and bio-mechanical changes associated with ageing and their implications for physical activity
Understand the medical conditions commonly associated with old age and their implications for physical activity
Understand the key considerations for older adults participating in physical activity
Understand the communication skills required to engage with older adults
Is there a Pre- Requisite?
Yes. This course requires a minimum entry of L2 Exercise to Music, Gym Instructor or DFQ. Pre requisite certificates must be sent to @firstname.lastname@example.org upon paying for the course. Candiates will not be enrolled until proof of the pre requisite is sent.
What dates would the webinars be?
Saturday 26th June 10.30am-12.30pm
Friday 23rd July 10.30am-12.30pm
You MUST attend ONE webinar to complete the course.
How do you run the webinars?
We run all our webinars using Zoom.
What do I wear for the webinars?
Webinars can feature both lecture content and movement content. Please be prepared that you may be asked to do some movement, therefore we recommend you wear appropriate wear for exercise.
What about all the other learning?
All other learning is done in your own time. this is an in-depth course and is the entry qualification in to the fitness industry. As a guide we advise 30 hours in total to complete the entire course including the assessments.
How do I take the assessments?
The assessment for this course is submitted via worksheet and case study to your assessor. you will be supported on how to submit this.
What date does the course start?
There is no specific start date. You can enrol at any time
Will I get hard copy of the manual?
No, we provide virtual access to the course content. you can purchase a manual at an additional cost of £40 inc p&p. This supports us keeping the costs lower for each learner.
