The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to be able to programme safe and effective exercise for both pre, and postnatal clients, taking into account the physiological and bio-mechanical changes associated with pregnancy and the key health and safety considerations for pre and postnatal clients taking part in physical activity.
How is my course delivered?
The Level 3 in supporting Pre and Postnatal clients with Exercise and Nutrition is a blended, virtual course. This is done the Active IQ's E Learning platform and supported with a live and mandatory webinar with your tutor.
What does the course cover
Understand the benefits and barriers/concerns of physical activity for pre and postnatal clients
Know the physiological and bio-mechanical changes that take place during pregnancy
Know the physiological and bio-mechanical changes that take place during the postnatal period
Understand the key considerations for pre and postnatal clients participating in physical activity
Understand how to collect information to ensure health and safety when working with a pre or postnatal client
Know the role that health care professionals play in supporting pre and postnatal clients
Know the nutritional requirements for pre and postnatal clients
Is there a Pre- Requisite?
Yes. This course requires a minimum entry of L2 Exercise to Music, Gym Instructor or DFQ. Proof of this must be send to Ale@communityfitnessnetwork.org.

How do you run the webinars?
We run all our webinars using Zoom.
What about all the other learning?
All other learning is done in your own time. As a guide we advise 30 hours in total to complete the entire course including the assessments.
How do I take the assessments?
The assessment for this course is submitted via worksheet and case study to your assessor. You will be supported on how to submit this.
What date does the course start?
There is no start date. You are able to start in your own time
Will I get hard copy of the manual?
No, we provide virtual access to the course content. you can purchase a manual at an additional cost of £40 inc p&p. This supports us keeping the costs lower for each learner.
